Ifafa Beach House is owned by a community of friends who have jointly acquired the original farmhouse and property of some 40 hectares bordering onto the Mvuzi lagoon and wetland area south of the Fafa river at this quiet coastal village some 70 km south of Durban airport. Before further development begins they have decided to timeshare the existing homestead which has been competely refurbished as a holiday cottage for use by members and friends who subscribe to their ethos of eco-friendly living and contributing to the development of the local community.
The house has been refurbished with most of the mod cons you will need. The living area is very spacious, with lounge and open plan dining room & kitchen. There are three bedrooms with 2 single and 2 double beds. There is only one bathroom & toilet indoors, but has an outdoor shower and VIP toilet.
Ifafa is wonderfully unspoilt and the immediate surroundings of indigenous bush and forest provide a tranquil and peaceful setting. Birdlife is plentiful and the wetlands and lagoon provide a wonderful refuge for all kinds of wildlife.
The house has dramatic views over the breakers, long sandy beach, river and wetlands.
The beach provides sandy stretches, reefs and bays ... even a large tidal pool for safe swimming and snorkelling
There are many activities on offer - Oribi Gorge and Vernon Crooks parks, a craft meander, crocodile farm etc are a short drive away … and the annual sardine run in June / July is a great attraction! Ifafa is a secure and safe environment, but there is an alarm and rapid response service just in case. A resident caretaker will open up and attend to any problems and daily cleaning and laundry service can be arranged on request
