The Resort

Castleburn is located in the foothills of the southern Drakensberg in the lovely Drakensberg Gardens valley. The estate is home to herds of eland and over 100 species of bird and borders on the uKhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage area beneath the towering peaks of Garden Castle.
The well known Giant’s Cup hiking trail passes through, and the estate is close to the Umzimkulu river which is reknown for its trout fishing.

There are a wealth of facilities on site to keep you entertained.

The Chalet

Thatched architecturally designed cottage built with hand-hewn local stone.
Accommodation comprises a comfortable lounge, dining room, 3 en suite bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and braai area on the patio.
There are heating systems in the bedroom and bathrooms and a stone fireplace for extra comfort and atmosphere. Facilities also include television with DSTV, dishwasher and washing machine.
Linen and towels are provided and there is a daily cleaning and laundry service. Babysitting, cots, wood and charcoal are available.
